The Last Exorcism spooked up the #1 slot at the box office bringing in over $21 million dollars. The listed budget of the film was only $1.8 million which has already been blown away.
‘Inception’ Bends The Box Office Into A Frenzy!

Inception was a box office gem this weekend drawing over $60 million bucks from the poverty strickened movie fans knocking ‘Despicable Me’ into second with $32.7. Um….’The Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ disappointed with only $17.4 million but look at the heavy hitters it was up against. Besides who can stomach that over-actor Nick Cage anyway?
‘Karate Kid’ Dices Up Box Office With $56 million!

‘Karate Kid’ did way more than I expected this weekend at the box office as it rallied in $56 million dollars. It doubled the amount of the highly promoted ‘A-Team’ which brought in $26 million. ‘Karate Kid’ had a budget of $40 million so I’d say they covered themselves in just the first week. Not too shabby now “Johnny sweep the leg!”
‘Shrek’ Takes Over The Box Office From ‘Iron Man’!

Shrek Forever After is box office king this weekend with a whopping $71.2 million taking the lead away from Iron Man 2. Don’t get me wrong I was barely aware of the fact that the movie was due to open this weekend. No matter as it topped the box. Other notes: Macgruber pulled in a disappointing $4.1 million and this was more advertised than anything coming out this weekend. Wow…I’m still going to go see it anyway.
Iron Man 2 & The Three Day Totals! HUGE!

Iron Man 2 has drawn in the 5th highest opening in a three day span with $133.6 million. Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and the rest of cast must be proud to be part of this great event! It is a smash hit and is highly recommended!
Iron Man 2 Takes In Some Major Bread!

Iron Man 2 did exactly as expected and that is rip a hole in the box office cash box! It brought in $52.4 million in the U.S. opening this weekend. Robert Downey Jr. is the new face of entertainment and has come a long way from ‘Johnny Be Good’ or ‘Less Than Zero’.
‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ Remake Scares Up The Cash!

Nightmare on Elm Street 2010 didn’t waste any time scaring up money at the box office! It carved up a whopping $32.2 million in scares around the U.S. It has basically matched the money spent on making the movie which was around the $30 million dollar range. We will have to see what kind of drop off it has versus ‘Iron Man 2′ next weekend.
Lyndsy Fonseca of ‘Kick-Ass’ in Photoshoot!

Lyndsy Fonseca was part of the wild cast in the surprise hit ‘Kick-Ass’. This 23 year old actress has made a living in bit parts on television shows such as ‘Heroes’ and ‘How I Met Your Mother’. ‘Kick-Ass’ had a $30 million dollar budget and has currently surpassed that with $34.9. She also makes an appearance in ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’.

WWE Offers Fans A Refund Due To Talentless Show!

Fans that attended the WWE Raw Show last night in East Rutherford, New Jersey are being offered a refund on their tickets due to talent not being at the event. Technically it was out of the hands of World Wrestling Entertainment because of the volcanoes that have erupted in Europe. No flight traffic is safe the the entire Raw roster was stuck over there. If fans bring their tickets to the box office today, they will be allowed a refund. Wow….have to admit from a television spectator stand point that the show did suck.

‘Kick-Ass’ Brings In Decent Box Office Cash!

‘Kick-Ass’ brought in decent money at the box office with $19.75 million but really had to fight off ‘How to Train Your Dragon’. That movie keeps bringing in at least $20 a week. I guess 3-D cartoons are the way to go. Live action flicks such as ‘Clash of the Titans’ don’t really benefit from the 3-D effect but I’ll leave that up to you.
